![]() ![]() My dear vintage pistol collector friends, Barrel, frame, slide would have all been replaced as the characteristics don't match a 50s era P1. So this gun he says likely went through a number of reworks and upgrades at the arsenal. Basically, the serial number on my P1 is dated back to the 50s. Well, I got an expert opinion on the P1 from the Walther forums.I'm trying to attach a pic of what I think is the serial # for a.22 model - right side, just below the ejection port - I'm presuming the 'DE' stands for Deutschland - if DE is the date code that would make it a '34 year. Thanks Dave - apologies for my slowness, I haven't been able to hold an Expert yet - only been able to look at pictures. What I'm trying to do is find out where i can go to find out the mfg date. I did some online research into Interarms. I have an Interarms made PPK/S pistol and I don't know how to find the date it was built. As a result, in 1952, Walther licensed production of the PP series pistols to a French company, Manufacture de Machines du Haut-Rhin, also known as Manurhin. For several years following the war, the Allied powers forbade any manufacture of weapons in Germany. ![]()
